THE CRUEL SEA (1953)
“The World War II adventures of a British convoy escort ship and its officers.” I kinda thought I’d be a little bored with this one, but I just keep being impressed by the effects and what they could actually do given the technology at the time. There’s definitely some real footage spliced in, it the practical effects are noteworthy, and I was far more engaged with the story than I thought I would be. Rented on Prime.
