“Alice returns to where the nightmare began: The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.” I still can’t say this is any good, but I didn’t hate it. This actually felt much more grounded than the previous ones, but still insanely dumb as well. On Hulu.
“A notorious mafia hitman and a young Black FBI agent team up to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in 1966 Mississippi.” This is a super interesting story in a competent to fine movie. Nothing spectacular, but I was entertained. It’s nice to see Wahlberg actually playing characters again and not more family religious slop that he has been doing.
“Alice fights alongside a resistance movement to regain her freedom from an Umbrella Corporation testing facility.” I kinda like the first scene which is the end of the previous movie but in reverse. Other than that, this is the most ridiculous these movies are, and just the loosest use of this IP and just not good. On Netflix.
“When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper must unleash hell to protect her young daughter.” I enjoyed this but wanted more. It’s a tight 90 minutes and felt like it could have used another 20 to flesh it out a bit. Really feels like a stepping stone for a much bigger sequel. Will see anything Adria Arjona does.
