POLICE STORY 4: FIRST STRIKE (1996)

“This fourth installment of Jackie Chan’s Police Story film franchise has our hero trying to locate a missing nuclear warhead.” I think it’s hard to watch any of these and not at least be entertained, but the stakes in this one almost seem too high for what these are supposed to be. Still fun, insane sequences including the snowboarding scene and all underwater stuff. Again, Jackie Chan doesn’t get enough credit. On Tubi.

RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE (2010)

“Alice and her friends keep her promise to see Umbrella in Japan. After that, she continues her search for Arcadia, which leads her to LA, where she finds a small group of survivors trapped in a prison.” Other than the bat shit crazy beginning, this one seems much more grounded than the other ones. I just really wish that these had more craft to them. This is the best since the original, I just wish these were closer to the games.

PATTON (1970)

“The World War II phase of the career of controversial American general George S. Patton.” Fascinating and complicated look at one of the most famous generals. This won 7 Oscar’s, including best picture and best actor for George C. Scott. Probably my favorite of his roles, he fully becomes Patton. It’s also worth reading what happened to him post war. Rented on Prime.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

“A young man on Earth discovers a fabulous secret legacy as the prince of an alien planet, and must recover a magic sword and return home to protect his kingdom.” This was surprisingly fun. I don’t really have that much history with He-Man at all, I’ve seen some of the show, don’t really know the lore or anything, but had genuinely good time. Jared Leto honestly crushes it as Skeletor, but maybe that’s because you can’t see his face or honestly even recognize his voice, but it’s the best performance in the movie. Definitely too long, but it doesn’t drag. On Prime.
