“Three traumatized or physically disabled World War II veterans return home to the American Midwest to discover that they and their families have been irreparably changed making readjustment difficult.” A fascinating look into the past, and only a couple years removed from WW2, feels very real. I could argue this is too long, especially with the pacing of old movies, but everything feels very genuine so it’s hard to complain. This won 7 Oscar’s, including best picture. On Prime.
