BALLAD OF A SMALL PLAYER
“When his past and his debts start to catch up with him, a high-stakes gambler laying low in Macau encounters a kindred spirit who might just hold the key to his salvation.” This is one of the best looking movies of the year. Macau and Hong Kong look incredible. I’m always intrigued by a gambler losing all his money and then having to stake it all to win it back and pay debts, but this just takes a turn that I couldn’t get on board with. Disappointing in the end.
