Intravascular Catheters
Intravascular catheters are sterile, flexible tubes inserted into blood vessels (veins or arteries) to provide access for administering medications, fluids, blood products, nutrition, or for monitoring and blood sampling.
Types of Intravascular Catheters
1. Peripheral Intravenous (IV) Catheter
Inserted into veins of the hand, forearm, or arm.
Used for short-term therapy.
