“A vicious Kansas City slaughterhouse owner and his hick family are having a bloody “beef” with the Chicago crime syndicate over profits from their joint illegal operations. Top enforcer Nick Devlin is sent to straighten things out.” This is a great 70’s crime thriller, and much darker than expected. Hackman does a great job as the heavy, and I was surprised to see Sissy Spacek in her first ever role.
