“In 1970s Detroit, John Miller falls for a local gangster’s girl. In retaliation, the gangster enacts a frame job to send the innocent man to prison. Life ruined, Miller plots a revenge campaign against the man who took his girl away.” Knowing nothing going in, I was annoyingly surprised that there is basically no dialogue in this movie. It’s largely music and grunts from people fighting. It’s a complete waste of what could have been a great Ben Foster performance as the villain. It still has some super entertaining set pieces, but they don’t save the overall movie. The last scene is laughably stupid and I can’t believe they filmed it.
