“In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff and mayor sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.” This perfectly captures the insanity and paranoia of 2020. Not everyone wants to relive that year, but it’s a fascinating, hilarious, and even scary story set in that time. Lots of layers to peel back, and I can’t stop thinking about it. Ari Aster is insane.
