“Wealthy businessman Zsa-zsa Korda appoints his only daughter, a nun, as sole heir to his estate. As Korda embarks on a new enterprise, they soon become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined assassins.” I’m hot and cold with Wes Anderson, but this is one of his better movies as of recently. Benicio Del Toro and Michael Cera are the standouts, but the whole cast is great. This feels slightly less doll-house theater like normal Wes, but it’s still clearly his vision, and he’s so good at doing this thing.

“The effects of a nuclear holocaust on the working class city of Sheffield, England and the eventual long-term effects of nuclear war on civilization.” This seemed timely, and wow was it bleak. Obviously we don’t want Nuclear war, but Jesus Christ. It feels a tad dated, but this could not get the point across better. Shudder.

“The life of a disc jockey is turned upside down after a romantic encounter with an obsessed fan.” Really enjoyed this. It’s a fun thriller, with Clint Eastwood again playing against type, and Jessica Walter’s is out of her mind.

“After the murder of his older brother, a New York history student is hounded by shadowy government agents on the trail of a Nazi war criminal who is trying to retrieve smuggled diamonds.” Nazi’s are the beat villains. The first hour is pure paranoia and what the fuck is going on, before it truly comes together. Not perfect, but a really solid 70’s thriller. The scene this movie is known for is an absolute nightmare. Paramount +
