Ridley Scott directed biopic of the famous French Emperor. Really enjoyed this, but have a few issues. It’s over 2 and a half hours, but actually feels too short. Napoleon is such an important character in history, that it actually feels like certain things were glossed over more than they should have been. There are liberties taken with the story that aren’t completely historically accurate, which kinda bugs me a bit. All that said, the battle scenes are gorgeous and Ridley’s strong suit. Everything looks great, and Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby are super weird but absolutely perfect for what this is.
