I didn't take any pics from last night's show, but it was f*cking awesome. It's hard to even explain this band to someone, or what the show was like. They seamlessly jump from genre-to-genre mid-song and it somehow flows together perfectly. They are Professionals with a capital P. I've been wanting to see them since I was first exposed to SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE in 2018 when their album "Hypnic Jerks" came out. 10/10. Instantly bought it on vinyl. Listening to this album is like dreaming, I don't know how else to explain it. It was so strange and melodic at the same time, I needed to see how the hell they could possibly pull this off playing live. There was a point last year where Ben & I almost made the trip to Washington DC to see them because they weren't playing many shows, especially around here. Now, they are touring with frickin Animal Collective and playing Pitchfork Festival, Adult Swim Festival, and more. This is one of my favorite bands, hands down. They are really doing something incredibly unique. Can't wait to see them again.
Also - shout out to the band Suitor. They opened for them, and killed it. It was my first time seeing them, but they are from the west side. I know they've played Happy Dog and some other joints so I will definitely be checking them out again soon.
