THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE
“Ann Lee, the founding leader of the Shaker Movement, is proclaimed as the female Christ by her followers. This film depicts her establishment of a utopian society and the Shakers’ worship through song and dance, based on real events.” Certainly not gonna be for everyone, but I was surprised how interesting this was. The singing and theatrics of the Shakers can seem silly, but it’s oddly soothing. Fascinating life of Ann Lee as well. There’s only 3 Shakers left in the United States in 2026.
