“A coverup and witchhunt occur after a politician accidentally kills his mistress.” Pretty solid political thriller. Legit edge of your seat stuff from early Costner and veteran Hackman. There’s an on foot chase that had me worn out. My only real complaint is the score is sooooooo 80’s. Max.
Just rewatched this recently and forgot how great it was. While pulp fiction is the best movie John Travolta has been in, this is his greatest as a leading man. Excellent early 80s conspiracy thriller. Currently on HBO Max.
Anyone who knows me know, I didn’t love the first avatar and I was highly skeptical of this one going in. I gotta say, I was kind of impressed, even though the movie still had a lot of the issues I expected it to have. It looks absolutely incredible. Sets the bar for what CGI can look like, even if I still think the Na’vi look dumb. Some super memorable set pieces, which is what James Cameron is known for, and the 3rd hour kinda rules all the way to the end. All of that said, there is somehow less plot than the first, and it’s a good half hour too long, but it’s definitely an experience, I’ll give it that. You gotta see this is the theater, in 3D, if you care at all. Watching at home isn’t gonna be the same.
