“The city of New Rome is the main conflict between Cesar Catilina, a brilliant artist in favor of a utopian future, and the greedy mayor Franklyn Cicero. Between them is Julia Cicero, her loyalty divided between her father and her beloved.” I hate saying this about movies because I try to be positive, but this bored me to tears and felt every minute of its 2 hour and 20 minute run time. It’s so fucking weird, and other than Shia LaBeouf and Aubrey Plaza and one other specific scene, I just wanted this to end. Slightly baffling to me that this is what Coppola put so much of his own money into.
