“A bureaucrat tries to find meaning in his life after he discovers he has terminal cancer.” I had never seen any Akira Kurosawa films, and it’s time to rectify that. This is from 1952, but it’s an incredibly modern feeling story, and deeply affecting. Highly recommended. HBO Max.
