“After his home is conquered by the tyrannical emperors who now lead Rome, Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum and must look to his past to find strength to return the glory of Rome to its people.” I wanna preface this by saying that I’m not as big of a fan of the original as some people are. I like the movie, it might make my top 10 Ridley Scott. I thought the sequel was fun, actually has better action, but is a much worse movie. Paul Mescal is good, but isn’t Russell Crowe, Pedro Pascal isn’t given a lot to do, and Denzel doesn’t do anything special, but he’s above everyone else. Go in with light expectations.
