A semi autobiographical film with elements of fantasy, based on the life of Alejandro G. Iñárritu, director of The Revenant, Birdman. Super weird, and honestly kind of pretentious. Great filmmaking, but this just didn’t land for me and I’m a fan of pretty much everything else this guy has made. Netflix.
“An exiled anxiety-ridden homebody must battle an alien who's found its way into her home.” It’s not without flaw, but I dug hell out of this. Fantastic lead performance from Kaitlyn Dever and she does an amazing job of acting completely by herself. Kept me captivated the entire time. I do have some issues with the third act and some half baked ideas. I also don’t think the CGI is as good as it needs to be, but I still like the alien design. Hulu.
