“Anora, a young sex worker from Brooklyn, meets and impulsively marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as his parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled.” One of my most anticipated of the year, and I feel kinda mixed on it. This is in no way bad, but feels tonally off to me. It feels like if you combined uncut gems with pretty woman. Feels like it wants to be a comedy but kinda feels too serious to land that way. I haven’t really stopped thinking about it, and kinda wanna see it again. Also, Mikey Madison is an absolute star in every sense of the word.
